
Lately, I’ve been interested in lines. Parallel lines that are close but never touching. Perpendicular lines that meet at a right angle but then never meeting again. Lines that are clear and visible. Lines that hide and require attention to see. Human connections and sociability are also like lines, but much more frail, faltering, uncertain. When I study sexual violence law – its application and its impacts – I see it as drawing a line.
